Way to long ago I was unemployed and decided to start a tree felling and garden service business in the Durban, Glenwood and Durban north areas. Due to my absolute stubbornness and refusal to quit my business grew into a successful tree felling business operating in the greater Durban area, focusing on the Glenwood, Morningside and Durban north areas.
After 23 years, my business has expanded into the Hillcrest, Kloof and outer west areas as well as Durban and Durban North where we have an extensive client base from domestic to corporate and large construction. Many years ago, we took on the challenge of putting staff and client safety first, so we have a strict policy of H.S.E. and a very comprehensive insurance policy covering public liability and work away insurance for my clients.
We are not arrogant enough to say we are the best, but after 23 years of service and having removed thousands of trees, mostly alien (I must add) and still in business, we have clearly done many things right. So, if you need work to be done in the tree felling, tree pruning and stump removal industry, give us a call. We are not the cheapest, but we are competitive if compared to others in the same league.
I always encourage my clients to other quotes, I also encourage the public to expect the contractor of choice to treat their staff the way they expect to be treated by their employer. We are a verified services contractor with all documentation in place including a comprehensive safety file, full insurance and staff wear PPE. Staff are registered for UIF and registered for workman’s compensation.

ABOUT US
Charlies Treefelling was established in 1994 and has been servicing clients in the Greater Ethekweni area for the past 22 years. During this time we have provided treefelling, garden services and stump removal to various sectors from industrial developments, the municipality and small businesses to body corporates and residential houses. We pride ourselves in giving the best possible service that is efficient and cost effective to ensure client satisfaction.
Charlies Skip Hire was started in 2018 after Charlies Treefelling realized that there was a value added benefit for our clients by adding a mini skip hire business for refuse and rubble removal. As our treefelling service is often used by building contractors, who would require the use of a mini skip to clear sites of rubble.
It also became very evident that within our own services being the garden service and treefelling service, the mini skips were ideal for our small job to medium sized jobs.
The advantage of the mini skips is the ease of delivery and the fact that they are allowed into estates due to the low total mass of the trailer and van, where more often than not trucks are not allowed without special permission.
