Tree removal

Tree felling of any size

From a single overgrown tree in a back garden to rows of gums on a development site, we fell and remove trees of any size. Where there is room, a tree is felled in one controlled drop. Where there is not, our climbers dismantle it from the top down in sections.

  • Large pines, gums, figs and alien invaders
  • Trees threatening roofs, walls, paving and drains
  • Storm-damaged and dead trees
  • All wood, branches and leaves removed

Dangerous trees

Hard-to-reach and dangerous tree removal

Trees leaning over houses, boundary walls, roads or power lines are taken down piece by piece. The crew sets up an exclusion zone, works in full PPE and lowers sections under control so nothing lands where it should not.

We are insured for public liability and work-away cover, so your property and your neighbours are protected.

Tree pruning & trimming

Tree pruning, trimming and cutting back

Not every tree needs to come down. Pruning removes dead and dangerous branches, lifts the crown off roofs and gutters, thins dense canopies to let light and wind through, and keeps trees healthy and good-looking.

  • Crown lifting and thinning
  • Branches cut back from roofs, gutters and cables
  • Deadwood removal
  • Hedge and palm trimming

Stump removal

Stump grinding and stump removal

A stump left behind is a trip hazard, attracts termites and can send up new shoots. We grind stumps out below ground level so the area can be replanted, grassed, paved or built on. Quote it with your tree felling or on its own.

Questions

Tree felling questions

How much does tree felling cost in Durban?

Every tree is priced individually. The main factors are the height and spread of the tree, how close it is to houses, walls and power lines, access for the crew, and whether you want the stump ground out and all the wood removed. Send photos on WhatsApp for a quick indication, and we will confirm with a free site visit and written quote.

Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

Most trees on private property can be removed without a permit, but protected tree species listed under the National Forests Act need a permit, and trees on the municipal verge belong to the municipality. We will tell you on the site visit if anything on your property needs permission before we start.

Can you remove a tree that is close to my house or power lines?

Yes. Our climbers take dangerous and hard-to-reach trees down in controlled sections, lowering pieces instead of dropping the whole tree. If a tree is touching Eskom or municipal lines, the supply authority may need to make the line safe first, and we will help you arrange that.

Do you remove the wood and branches?

Yes. Unless you ask to keep the logs for firewood, everything is loaded and taken away, and the area is raked and swept before we leave.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry comprehensive insurance including public liability, keep a full safety file, and our staff are registered for UIF and workman's compensation.

Do you grind out stumps?

Yes. We grind stumps below ground level so you can replant, lay lawn or build over the area. Stump grinding can be quoted on its own or with the tree removal.
